And now for something completely different...
They're filming a "reality show" outside our offices this morning. Rumor has it, anyway, that it is: The Phone.

Interesting that they would shoot the same scene over and over again... reality my ***.

Oh, and a late new year's resolution: don't blog on the middle east. Leave that one to the pros.

I once shot a segment of a local evening magazine meeting Harlan Ellison at his house. One of the more comical aspects of the piece was Harlan walking me around showing me things, and then the segment director running up and saying things like, "That was great, can you do it again?" Everything is done over and over and over, and then edited down. The exception would be anything with a genuinely live feed, like anchoring the news. And even then, you can bet any taped segments were done several times unless they cover genuinely one-time-only moments.
